1. Cut all manager pays in half. (From the CEO down) 2. Suspend all management bonuses. 3. Tell the workers they must deunionize. 4. Tell the workers they will have to take a pay cut. ($40 an . . . more

He also worked for a mall too and he told me one of his saddest cases was a mother, that left her 6 year old on a bench and he called his mom on intercom for an hour and she didn't show up for that long or longer and then when he asked her why he was on a bench and him as a security officer, had to color and entertain the kid for an hour, she told him that he walked off and he told her in response, "If this happens again, I'm going to have you arrested and charged for neglect. I don't want to see you again. Get out of my office"

Hello Shawn,
There are security jobs that are just as dangerous as law enforcement jobs, mall security comes to mind. Those guys run pretty much like a municipal police department. They respond to all the same calls and in most cases do it unarmed. Well - he worked for Myrtle Beach, SC. Not sure if you know where that is, but he worked the strip. He had to deal with all kinds of situations, that he has told me about, that I would be scared out of my mind to deal with! He told me its easy and I just sit there laughing when he says its easy and not that hard to get a weapon from someone's hand. He knows the drills, how to take down and was trained for all of this and knows codes. When working for Myrtle Beach, he had a security car and told me how he had to take calls just like an officer and had to work with the police department hand in hand and go to police academy? I wouldn't understand why he had to go to academy? But he told me he did. He told me the worst thing he had to deal with was a high school friend (girl) of his had a jeep and he didn't know who it was till he got on the seen and saw parts of her body all over the road and then he explained details to me and I said "gross, you didn't have to deal with that" and he said "You'd be surprised what officers deal with." He bragged about how he worked long hours and loved his job and wants to go back into it. I wouldn't want him to get high hopes and go back into the field or whatnot and then the background check or everything not go okay? Does that mean a degree is pretty much useless at that point? Don't get me wrong, I love my man and I do think this is a good career for him, but I also think he would be criticised by other officers because of his/my background check and if the officers ever knew my history of adolescence, they'd laugh at him for probably being with me. I really love him and support his decision. He is very smart and knows codes, how to restrain, etc. He has shown me all what he is learned. He is a fast learner (I think) and he also has previous experience in management. The only thing on his background check is minor traffic offenses (something about tires) and him selling alcohol to someone under 21, but that was about 10 years ago or more. Does 10 or more years ago count? thanks again for your advice. Michelle
